Australie, Adelaide, 20-10-2019. Solar Team Eindhoven wint voor de vierde maal de Cruiser klasse in de Bridgestone World Solar Challenge met een flinke voorsprong op de concurrentie. Ze vieren het met een rondje bier uit de trofee beker in het Belgian Beer Cafe. Met de vierpersoons familie zonnewagen Stella Era reden zij 3000 km van Darwin naar Adelaide dwars door de outback van Australie. Solar Team Eindhoven is een multidisciplinair studententeam van de Technische Universiteit Eindhoven die de auto zelf heeft ontworpen en gebouwd. De Cruiser Class wordt niet alleen op snelheid gewonnen, maar op verbruik, jurering en persoonskilometers. Zoveel mogelijk met 4 personen rijden geeft dus een voorsprong in het klassement. Solar Team Eindhoven wins for the fourth time the Cruiser Class in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge with a considerable win on the competition. They celebrate with a round of beer from the trophy cup. The multidisciplinary studentteam from Dutch Eindhoven University of Technology designed and build the fourseater family solarcar Stella Era with which they drove 3000 kms from Darwin to Adelaide through the Outback of Australia. The Cruiser Class is not just won by speed, but by energyconsumption, judging, and persons-kilometers. Driving with four people as much as possible means a considerable advantage.
